Discover the magic of Mount Etna by staying in our cosy chalet. Matilde's Chalet offers a unique experience between nature and adventure, for those who want to escape the chaos of the city and enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the mountains. Ideal for families, couples and groups of friends.
We are located in the heart of the Etna Park. We are at an altitude of 1,500 metres on the southern slope, surrounded by a forest of chestnut trees, centuries-old oaks and the recent lava flows of 1983 and 2001. The nearest town is Nicolosi, 8 km away.

The chalet was built in 1976, and in 1983 a majestic lava front passed just a few steps from the house, leaving it miraculously unscathed. Even today you can see and admire the lava flow, which makes the surrounding area look like a lunar landscape.

The house was recently renovated with high-quality materials and combines the rustic charm of wood and lava stone with modern comfort. The interior is tastefully decorated and creates a warm and cosy ambience.

The entrance to the first floor is independent from the ground floor and offers guests a large terrace with views of the lava flow and the forest. The first floor consists of a living room with a dining table, a comfortable sofa bed for two, a flat-screen TV and Wi-Fi.
A modern bathroom with a bathtub that can be converted into a shower, bidet, sink and toiletries. A modern kitchen with hob, oven and fridge, crockery and cooking utensils.

There are 3 bedrooms, one room with a single bed on the first floor, while the second floor has two bedrooms. A double room with a double bed, a triple room with a double bed and a single bed with an attached balcony.

The large outdoor area, surrounded by chestnut trees and centuries-old oaks, is at your complete disposal, as well as a large lava stone barbecue and a stone oven where you can bake delicious pizzas. For the little ones, there is a tree house equipped with various games.

In spring or summer, you can enjoy the rich and varied vegetation and take pleasant walks in the fresh air. In fact, there are several nature trails that are easy to walk even for the less experienced. Among the most impressive and closest are Monte Concilio and Monte Sona, which are only 1.9 kilometres away. The nature trail Monte Nero degli Zappini or the Etna high mountain trail are 7.8 km away, the Sentiero schiena dell'Asino, a path of about 50 minutes that takes you over the majestic Valle del Bove, about 11.9 km from the house.
