Location & surroundings
The country house La Casita del Limoncito is located in Alcaucín and is perfect for an unforgettable holiday with your loved ones.
Perched 518 meters above sea level, Alcaucín offers breathtaking, panoramic views in every direction. Its name, meaning "little fortress," reflects its rich history, a nod to the imposing Castillo de Zalia that stands watch over a nearby hilltop.
As you explore Alcaucín’s winding streets, the town's charm unfolds, highlighted by the Alcaucín Fountain of Five Spouts. Flowing continuously throughout the year, the fountain’s origins date back to the Moorish occupation, though its exact age remains a mystery. According to local tradition, drinking from the middle spout ensures you'll marry someone from the village!
While steeped in history, Alcaucín is equally alive in the present. Savor regional delicacies at the town’s restaurants, discover the wonders of the Cueva del Boquete de Zafarraya caves, or enjoy a hike through the scenic El Alcázar Recreation Area. Whether you're seeking cultural immersion, outdoor adventures, or a taste of authentic Spanish life, Alcaucín promises a truly unforgettable experience.
Only a 5-minute drive up, Puente Don Manuel is a thriving community nestled near Lake Viñuela.
