Present and past – A ‘piece’ of the ancient past awaits you at Le Terme di Velia, a 19th century casolare in the midst of an olive grove.
In the area around the casolare, a former farmhouse, archaeologists have recovered the remains of ancient thermae, hence the name of the accommodation with 2 holiday apartments at Marina di Ascea – Le Terme di Velia.
As the architectural design of the façade is partly quarry stone, the farmhouse has preserved its rustic-rural character.
Inside, owners Pantaleo and Alberta have succeeded in creating a tasteful and at the same time cozy atmosphere with the arte povera furniture typical for the region. HOLIDAY APARTMENT IL MOSAICO At Il Mosaico, "un pezzetto di un antico mosaico", part of an ancient mosaic, which was discovered during the works of renovation, was skillfully integrated into the kitchen wall and adds to the special atmosphere at the apartment. You enter Il Mosaico into the eat-in kitchen, where you can prepare your holiday meals with fresh ingredients from the market, fragrant bread, a "vino della casa" and, of course, olive oil. Do ask the owners, who also own a small azienda agricola at Ceraso, for a bottle of the ‘liquid gold of the Cilento’. A few steps up from the kitchen, a remarkable round arch shaped opening lets you into a large room which is both living and sleeping area with enough space for relaxing and feeling at ease and access of the bathroom as well as the outdoor area. Il Mosaico features WiFi and air conditioning with heating system. When vacationing in the south, you wish to spend as much time as possible outdoors.
At Il Mosaico, you can do so on two terraces: The one in front of the entrance faces the Tyrrhenian Sea; the one accessible from the bedroom faces the soothing green of the olive trees.
Of course you can also take it easy in the well-tended garden, which is shared by all the guests of Le Terme di Velia and from where your gaze roams as far as the excavation site of the ancient Greek town of Elea (later Velia, then Ascea). There’s a washing machine for shared use by all the guests.
Bicycles can be provided upon request, a TV upon request and at extra charge. HOLIDAY APARTMENT IL POZZO Upon request, we can also arrange for apartment Il Pozzo (for up to 3 pers.), which is located next to Il Mosaico and identical in layout.
The two holiday apartments can be connected to form a large family apartment.

The owners offer free pick-up from the train station (Ascea or Vallo Scalo). For train travelers who require a car for only a few days or some excursions, rental of a car can be arranged on site by the owner of Le Terme di Velia. The nearest beach at Marina di Ascea is about 800 m from the accommodation.
There is a free of charge shuttle service you can use to get to the sandy beach "Lido Velia" and back.
