GETTING AROUND In Como and the surrounding towns, ASF bus services are available; tickets can be purchased directly on the bus (cash only) or at other authorized points (the bus station in Piazza Matteotti in Como, bars, and tobacconists). Taxi services are also available. From the pier, ferries reach Cernobbio, Torno, Bellagio, Varenna, Colico, and other locations along the shores of the lake.
Please note that during the high season, there may be long queues at the ticket office before boarding.
Tickets can also be purchased online on the "Navigazione Laghi" website. From San Giovanni railway station in Como, you can regularly reach Milan Central Station and Switzerland (Lugano, Bellinzona, Locarno), while from Como Nord Lago station you can reach Milan Cadorna railway station. The nearest airports are Milan Malpensa, Milan Linate, and Orio Al Serio in Bergamo.
Shuttle services to and from airports can be easily arranged at an additional cost.

When moving around and walking along Lake Como, especially in small towns, it is necessary to wear comfortable shoes. There are many public drinking fountains in the area, and the water is safe to drink unless otherwise indicated.

You can bring your reusable bottle with you! If you are looking for a relatively easy hike in the area and still want to enjoy the mountain views, the Greenway of Lake Como is an easy-to-follow path that connects the towns of the lake from Colonno to Griante and does not require too many climbs.
A bus will take you to the starting point in Colonno. Look for traditional restaurants to taste local dishes, such as those based on Lake Como fish. In Italy, many shops (especially small ones) and services are closed in the middle of the day, so be sure to plan your purchases accordingly.
