It is an ideal holiday home for a wonderfully relaxing stay.
The house is located behind the owner’s home and is suitable for three people.
It is situated opposite the Refugium, a nature reserve near the Donkere Duinen, and the distance to the beach is approximately 800 meters. On the ground floor you will find the entrance, kitchen, living room, and a bedroom with a double bed.
There is also a bathroom with a toilet, shower, washbasin, and a washing machine with dryer. On the upper floor / mezzanine there is the second bedroom with a single bed.
This bedroom can be reached by stairs from the living room.
There is also the possibility to use an infrared sauna, which is accessible through a separate entrance next to the holiday home. Holiday home Merel is intended for people who enjoy peace, space, and nature.
It is located in the sheltered backyard of approximately 700 square meters and has a private south-facing terrace with plenty of privacy.
Parking is available next to the house on private property. It is a great base for walking and cycling trips in nature, with endless cycling routes along dune paths, the beach, the dike, and forests.
You can enjoy swimming in the sea, surfing, paddleboarding (SUP), and sunbathing.
Horse riding and canoeing in the inland and coastal waters of Den Helder are also possible, including via the canoe route. Area of Merel You can walk to the visitor center of Noord-Hollands Landschapsbeheer, "De Helderse Vallei", where you will also find a petting zoo, playground, lookout tower, barefoot path, climbing center, canoe rental with the start of a kilometer-long canoe route and finally the pancake house.
Walking through the dunes you will reach Fort Kijkduin, where you can view a fortification built by Napoleon and visit the sea aquarium.
Nearby is “De Lange Jaap”, the lighthouse of Den Helder.
Even the shopping center is within walking distance with a number of supermarkets, such as Lidl, Vomar and Albert Heijn. There is still a lot of culture to experience in the area, such as: The project “De Nollen, by the artist Ruud van de Wint, a beautiful sculpture park, which can be visited by appointment. Hortus Overzee, the botanical garden of Den Helder. The library, voted the most beautiful in the world [2018] the city living room of Den Helder. Ik heb twee nachten in huisje Merel geslapen. Was een prettig verblijf heel dicht bij de prachtige natuur van de Helderse duinen. Supermarkt ook op loopafstand. Heerlijk bed ook, alleen als je ‘s nachts naar de wc moet is het trapje een beetje lastig. Maar dat wist ik van te voren. De verhuurders zijn erg aardige mensen!
