Bun di e bainvgnü illa Villa Victoria - Welcome to the bright 3 ½-room flat in Villa Victoria. The house is located directly on the Inn and the steady murmur of the river and the tranquillity of nature guarantee a relaxing and restful stay. In the immediate vicinity are 3 mineral springs and the cultural centre Fundaziun Nairs - an artists' house with regular art exhibitions. Hiking or cycling tours can be started directly from the house. The village of Nairs is only 2 minutes by car from Scuol. The Engadin Bad Scuol, the train station, many restaurants and shopping facilities can be easily reached in summer by bike in 10 minutes or on foot in about 20 to 30 minutes.
In the bright and spacious flat (90 m2) you can enjoy your holidays all around. In the historic Villa Victoria, you can feel a little like Queen Victoria without having to do without modern comforts. All rooms are spacious and bright with views of the wild and romantic garden or the Inn. The open-plan kitchen is equipped with an oven, ceramic hob, fridge with freezer compartment and coffee machine.
The 90 m2 flat is located on the 2nd (top) floor of Villa Victoria. The villa is situated in a wild and romantic location directly on the banks of the Inn. The wild landscape of the Lower Engadine fascinates with every new view. Away from the hustle and bustle, the holiday flat is the perfect place to relax or to start a hike and is ideal for families as well as for guests interested in culture, history and nature.
The venerable Villa Victoria has recently undergone extensive energy renovation in consultation with the Graubünden Monument Protection Authority. The building's energy requirements are now covered 100% by renewable energies (primarily geothermal energy). This is entirely in the spirit of sustainable use of scarce natural resources - and also in the spirit of tourism interested in sustainability.
The Villa Victoria (then called Villa Kurhaus) was built in 1874 as a branch of the Hotel Kurhaus right next door - by a very well-known Swiss architect who had built pretty much every palazzo of the Russian aristocracy in St. Petersburg. The villa was used to accommodate special guests of the hotel - which is quite significant, as the hotel next door was frequented by a succession of crowned heads of half of Europe.
Rumour has it that Queen Victoria also resided here (hence the name Villa Victoria). And that on quiet nights with a full moon, the tall figure of John Brown, Queen Victoria's devoted Scottish servant, can still be seen walking around the villa cutting flowers for his Queen. Well. This is not scientifically proven. What is certain, however, is that today adventure-seekers and holidaymakers, and families too, are welcome at Villa Victoria. And that their children's eyes are more likely to see Villa Victoria as Villa Kunterbunt.
You can shop in Scuol, 2 kilometres away, at the Coop, Volg, Denner or in the bakeries and many local shops on the Stradun. Scuol railway station and the valley station of the mountain railways are also just a 2-minute drive away.
Enjoy the most beautiful time of the year in Scuol and let yourself be conquered by the unique natural and cultural landscape. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the old part of the village, relax in the spa and sauna area or go on one of the countless hikes in the Swiss National Park and enjoy the Motta Naluns family ski area in winter.
Our concierge service is available to you throughout your stay, we will tell you the best excursions, reserve a ski instructor for you or give you discounted admission to the Bogn Engiadina.
