PLACE AND SURROUNDINGS
Jesolo is located about 16 kilometers northeast of Venice on the beautiful Adriatic coast. It is divided into two areas: Lido di Jesolo on the Venice Lagoon and Jesolo Paese, about 2 kilometers inland. Jesolo offers excellent service, not least thanks to its over one hundred-year tradition as a holiday resort on the Adriatic. In addition to the beautiful golden-yellow sandy beach, guests have a wide range of sports activities available. The town of Jesolo stretches over 15 kilometers of sandy beach and is also well known for the longest pedestrian zone in Europe. 10 kilometers of bars, restaurants, shops, discotheques, and ice cream parlors guarantee relaxation and enjoyment. Furthermore, Venice, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, is easily and comfortably reachable from Jesolo. If you want a day full of adventure and fun, the water park "Aqualandia" in Jesolo is recommended, which is much more than a classic water park. It is a true amusement island organized by theme areas with 26 attractions in and above the water (including one of the longest water slides in the world). It's a bit drier at the amusement park "Jesolandia," and for those who prefer something more relaxed, there's "Sealife." Both are also located in Jesolo. However, Jesolo offers not only fun and entertainment but also some worthwhile sights. For example, the 48-meter-high lighthouse of Jesolo, which was built between 1948 and 1950 on the site of the old lighthouse from 1840. Today, it shapes the skyline of Jesolo on the coast of Lido di Jesolo at the mouth of the Sile river. Although it is located in the municipality of Cavallino-Treporti on the western bank of the Sile, it bears the name Lighthouse of Jesolo. Also worth a visit is the Torre del Caligo. It is the remnant of a medieval tower built by the Venetians near Jesolo. Every Friday, there is a market in Jesolo on Kennedy Square. Here you can find almost everything you need to live and much more. Enjoy the colorful hustle and bustle with a stroll through the market stalls. However, Jesolo is also the ideal starting point for numerous excursions in the surrounding area and beyond. In less than an hour, you can reach the famous art city of Venice. Let yourself be transported into a romantic mood with a gondola ride, stroll through the winding alleys, cross the Rialto Bridge, and visit St. Mark's Square and the famous Doge's Palace. Padua is also easily reachable from Jesolo. Visit the basilicas of Santa Giustina and Sant' Antonio and the Scrovegni Chapel, which are particularly interesting. It is also wonderful to stroll through the botanical garden or across the central square Prato della Valle. Galileo Galilei once taught at the University of Padua. Visit it too, as it is one of the oldest universities in the world.
