The holiday resort is located directly on the sea and borders the Venetian Lagoon. LOCATION AND SURROUNDINGS
Sottomarina is a suburb of Chioggia on the beautiful Adriatic coast. It is popular not only with young people, who come to Sottomarina from all over the Veneto, especially on summer weekends, but also with families, as children will find everything they need here too. Behind the wide, 6 km long sandy beach runs the beautiful promenade. The southern part of Sottomarina is entirely dedicated to tourism, while the northern part, the old town of Sottomarina, is more similar to Chioggia. In the evenings, the town invites you to stroll or spend time in one of the many restaurants. However, Sottomarina is also the ideal starting point for numerous excursions in the surrounding area and beyond. In a short time, you can reach famous art cities such as Venice or Padua. Or visit the picturesque fishing town of Chioggia, easily accessible via a bridge 800 meters long. It is not for nothing that it is also called Little Venice, as its palaces and canals with their many bridges are reminiscent of Venice. However, Chioggia's lifestyle is much more leisurely. Every Thursday, the weekly market takes place in Chioggia, which is one of the largest in the entire region. The Botanical Garden in the idyllic fishing village of Porto Caleri at the tip of the peninsula is also absolutely worth seeing. For those who prefer a day full of fun, a day trip to the amusement and water park Mirabilandia/Mirabeach (similar to Europa-Park plus swimming fun!!!) in Ravenna is recommended.
