For up to 3 people. Temistocle Solera (1815 – 1872): "Va pensiero sull’ali dorate" ("Fly, thought, on golden wings") - the librettist and poet Temistocle Solera drew inspiration for this text here in Campagnano at his grandfather's house, who was a renowned judge.
After other composers had rejected his libretto as too martial, Giuseppe Verdi became enthusiastic about it and used it as the basis for his opera Nabucco – a work that would mark his breakthrough as a composer and make him immortal.
In politically turbulent times, the Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves became the anthem of freedom for an entire nation.
Just as the Hebrew people in the opera longed for the end of Babylonian rule under Nebuchadnezzar, the text and music expressed the Italians' yearning for the end of Habsburg foreign rule, which had been established at the Congress of Vienna (1814 - 1815).
Thus, the Chorus of the Slaves became a symbol of the resistance movement on the difficult path to a united Italy.
Solera himself was a restless spirit drawn to the world: he worked as a conductor in several Spanish cities and became a confidant of Queen Isabella II.
He also served as a courier in secret negotiations between Napoleon III and Cavour and went to Egypt as police prefect.
But wherever he was, he carried the memory of the house in Campagnano, which he loved so dearly, with him and even immortalized it in some of his poems.
Temistocle Solera died in Milan in 1872, where he was buried in the Monumental Cemetery. Wohnung in traumhafter Lage mit Blick über den ganzen See. Zufahrt etwas eng aber machbar.
Ausstattung der Wohnugn super. Was ein bißchen nervt sind die Hunde der Nachbarn. Ansonsten sehr empfehlenswert.
