A house that has stories to tell... - The tasteful holiday flat with beautiful sea view terrace lies in the terraced alleys of Albori's centro storico. Albori is officially one of Italy's most beautiful villages.
"Se voi sapeste quante storie potrebbe raccontare questa casa" - "If you only knew how many stories this house could tell": with these words, the friendly manager of Casa Vecchia opened the door to us. And we wanted to hear the stories, even though the typical domed ceilings up to 3.50 metres high, original floors, antique furniture and the countless books tell the story of the house more eloquently than many words.
Casa Vecchia is located on the first floor of the house, which dates back to the 17th century. Due to the hillside location, however, you have ground-level access to the flat.
MEDITERRAN HOLIDAYS
At Casa Vecchia, you don't just immerse yourself in a fascinating piece of the past. Here you can spend a real "vacanze mediterranee" and savour life outdoors to the full. The terrace, which runs around the entire width of the house, is planted with magnificent potted plants and the sea lies deep blue at your feet.
On the covered part of the terrace, a beautiful mosaic table and seating promise hours of enjoyable dining together. The rear part of the sea view terrace invites you to sunbathe and browse through your holiday reading.
TASTEFUL FURNISHINGS & LARGE SEA VIEW TERRACE
The stylish entrance area leads directly into the living room. The beautiful floor dates back to the 17th century, the fireplace and the fine furnishings create an elegant and cosy ambience. A French balcony overlooking the piazzetta and a door to the terrace provide light and airiness. The dining kitchen with its high domed ceiling, original 18th century tiles, display cabinet and French balcony overlooking the piazza is small but very charming.
Casa Vecchia has 2 full bedrooms (each with air conditioning for a fee). The bedroom with a double bed has a wall of books, old family photographs and a desk, giving it a very special charm. The bedroom with two single beds (can also be set up as a double bed) has a small en-suite bathroom. The second bathroom is accessible from the hallway. Between the two bedrooms is a reading room and lounge. You can see the sea from all three rooms and have direct access to the terrace.
Please note: Due to the furnishings, the holiday flat is not suitable for travelling with small children. The terrace above the flat, which is also closed with a gate, may not be entered. The owners accept no liability whatsoever.
PARKING: Casa Vecchia cannot be accessed directly by car. A reserved, locked car park can be provided for a fee. Public parking is available along the road outside the town centre.
ALBORI, BARS, RESTAURANT & THE SEA
In Albori you are on holiday in one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Only a limited number of villages in the Campania region belong to this club of "Borghi più belli d'Italia". In tranquil Albori, you also have the opportunity to get to know the Amalfi Coast from its original, rural side. Hiking enthusiasts can start their tours in the mountains and along the coast directly from Casa Vecchia.
In the everyday life of the locals, the attentive traveller will gradually discover something of the soul of "Bella Italia". The locals know and greet each other, people walk at a leisurely pace through the narrow streets and archways. Laundry lines stretch from your own window to the neighbour across the street, fragrant basil grows in pots in front of the doors, small statues of the Virgin Mary are lovingly decorated, the children are of course picked up from school by the "nonno", the grandfather.
Café bars, a bruschetteria and the recommended restaurant of the local agriturismo can be reached after approx. 100 m. There are grocery shops in neighbouring Raito, approx. 800 m away. The nearest sandy beach is around 3 km away and can also be reached on foot via a flight of steps. For the return journey, we recommend using the well-developed public transport network. Please note that the last bus to Albori leaves at around 8 pm.

"Se voi sapeste quante storie potrebbe raccontare questa casa" - "If you knew how many stories this house could tell" welcomes us the friendly caretaker of Casa Vecchia. We, of course, want to hear the stories, even if the typical, up to 3.5 m high cupola ceilings, original flooring and antique furniture as well as quite a number of books tell you more about the history of the house than words ever could.
Casa Vecchia is located on the 1st floor of the 17th century building. Given the hillside location, you have got level access of the flat.
MEDITERRANEAN HOLIDAYS
Casa Vecchia mirrors a fascinating past, but it is also a wonderful and perfect accommodation for real "vacanze mediterranee" - with the deep blue sea lying at your feet.
The flat's sea view terrace runs the width of the house and is greened with rich potted plants. On the roofed part, you can gather around the beautiful mosaic table for meals; on the rear part, you can relax on loungers in the sun.
