A picco sul Mare, loosely translated as "right above the sea", is a lovely name and perfectly fitting for this bright, friendly holiday apartment in the northern part of Agropoli.
The terrace faces the Amalfi Coast and seems to float above the sea. That’s holiday feeling at its best! Large picture windows look out onto the sea, where, on clear days, Capri, the isle of 'longing', appears on the horizon; a ca. 40 m² terrace runs along the width of the house and at your feet, the sea breaks gently on the scogliera – the rocky reef below the apartment. A picco sul Mare as well as neighboring Casetta sulla Scogliera are located in a completely fenced private park with only few houses and private access of a small sandy beach bay. The lungomare of Agropoli with lidi, restaurants, bars and lovely promenade stretches out to the south of the bay. Sitting majestically enthroned upon a plateau, Agropoli's lively Old Town is always within sight. CLEAN LINES & MARITIME ATMOSPHERE The spacious, for the greater part completely renovated apartment accommodates up to 4 persons.
Owner and architect Aurelia set store by clean lines and created a bright, cozy atmosphere with a clearly maritime touch. The apartment includes 2 double bedrooms, a bathroom (shower/WC/bidet, hair dryer) as well as a large, inviting live-and-eat-in kitchen, the latter with a unique panoramic view of the wide, deep blue sea lying so to speak in front of the door.
The separate room behind the kitchen, where you find a washing machine at your disposal, offers access of a small balcony with outdoor shower. The live-and-eat-in kitchen (incl. gas stove, mini oven, electric kettle, refrigerator with freezer compartment) and the smaller bedroom (next to the kitchen) open onto the furnished sea view terrace, which can be shaded by an awning.
From the other bedroom, you have got a view of the medieval coastal watch tower.
A picco sul Mare also features: WiFi, air conditioning (extra charge) and fly screens in the larger bedroom, TV. 180° SEA VIEW & SUNSETS OFF THE ISLE OF CAPRI The view from the terrace is great - you can let your gaze roam from Agropoli to the south as far as the Amalfi Coast and the Gulf of Salerno to the north.
The steady sounds of the sea, a pleasant summer breeze and spectacular sunsets over the sea – it is this special combination which adds to your holidays at A picco sul Mare the lightness of unique southern Italian dolce vita. The more summer progresses, the more the sun moves towards Capri.
In midsummer, sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine in hand and the gentle sounds of the sea in your ears, you can then watch the red sun disappear into the sea on the horizon off Capri. ACCESS OF THE BEACH & SURROUNDINGS About 80 m from the apartment, a short, stepped path runs down to a small sandy bay. A rocky section separates it from a longer, wide sandy beach which stretches up to the 'gates' of the town center.
A leisurely walk along the beach takes you to the Old Town.
On your way you pass several restaurants and bars.
A supermarket is found ca. 1 km off, in a side road off the lungomare. Agropoli as one the larger towns in the Cilento offers many conveniences, such as restaurants and shops which are open year-round.
Should you be on the lookout for Cilento specialties, you might stop at Gastronomia del Corso in the town center (ca. 3 km from the apartment), which offers a small, but exquisite assortment of goods and has a fresh food counter with salumi from the Cilento. From June to September, boat connections from Agropoli harbor to the Amalfi Coast, to Capri and Salerno are good.
In July and August, there are also boat services to the coastal towns of the Cilento, e.g. Acciaroli, Palinuro and Marina di Camerota. Air conditioning in the large double bedroom. Die Eigentümer sehr nett ,freundlich und super hilfsbereit. Die Unterkunft sehr sauber bestens gelegen einfach ein super toller Urlaub. Wir waren schon das 2te mal dort und würden immer wieder dort in Urlaub fahren besser geht's einfach nicht mehr .Dafür ein herzlichen Dank
