The holiday home is only a short walk from the coast of the marine nature park.
There are quite a number of bathing spots and the small island Isola Licosa is always within view.
Legend has it that Odysseus sailed past this place, seemingly unimpressed by the Sirens’ songs. Between the village of Ogliastro Marina and Punta Licosa, a narrow hiking trail runs along the seaside.
The marine nature park is preferably explored and discovered on foot or by bike. BETWEEN CASTELLABATE AND THE SEA Via the spacious, roofed and furnished terrace, you enter Villino Dora into the live-and-eat-in kitchen with dining furniture and sofa.
Next to the kitchen lies a twin bedroom.
The bathroom (shower/WC/bidet) and the second bedroom (double bed), which looks out onto the garden, are accessible from the hallway. In the garden around Villino Dora, you are sure to find your favorite spot(s) for relaxing and taking a sunbath.
If you have taken along a badminton set, unpack it and give it a go. Further conveniences: WiFi, TV, air conditioning (extra charge in case of use), washing machine, outdoor shower.
Parking is available on the completely fenced (dog-proof!) premises. BEACH & HIKING You can go for a swim in the sea either at the natural coast of Punta Licosa, which is a ca. 450 m walk off, or at the beautiful sandy beaches of neighboring San Marco and Santa Maria di Castellabate and Ogliastro Marina.
You could take one of the bikes the owner provides for a fee to go there. UNESCO World Heritage listed Castellabate, rather well-known since the movie "Welcome to the South", is a small, authentic hilltop village located nearby and worth a closer look.
Monte Licosa and Punta Tresino are destinations for hiking tours, which lie, so to speak, on your doorstep. IN THE IMMEDIATE SURROUNDINGS Stores, bars and restaurants are found at Ogliastro Marina, which it takes you only a few minutes to reach by car, as well as at San Marco di Castellabate.
At San Marco, restaurants "K" and "Quasi in Porto" are, in general, open year-round.
A place you should really stop by is Caffetteria-Pasticceria Torretta at the entrance to San Marco – the sweet pastries there are hard to resist.
They also offer a good aperitivo with a small buffet of appetizers. PLEASE MIND: The nature park at Punta Licosa is not open to general traffic but to residents only.
As there is no public means of transport to or from the marine nature park, having a car at your disposal is strongly recommended.
