Goyt Cottage is a charming, stone-built cottage resting down a cobbled street in the idyllic village of Marple Bridge, in the borough of Stockport.
Tastefully furnished with character features, an enclosed courtyard and easy access to the village amenities, Goyt Cottage is a lovely break for a family or two couples looking to explore the Peak District and countryside around Manchester.
After finding roadside parking 100m from the cottage, head into your new home-from-home and make yourself comfortable in the lounge, complete with exposed oak beams, solid oak flooring, original windows and a woodburning stove, boasting a real sense of character.
Continue into the kitchen, complete with limestone flooring and underfloor heating, ample with a range of appliances and granite worktops, so you get straight to work on preparing your favourite home-cooked meals.
Gather in the dining room and to enjoy the fruits of your labour before popping on the dishwasher and heading out to the rear courtyard, benefitting from a south facing aspect with seating and a barbecue.
As the night rolls in, retreat upstairs and find the master king-size bedroom, complete with an en-suite shower room, whilst the second floor has a double bed.
Both bedrooms feature Smart TVs so you can enjoy your favourite series in bed.
Start the day with a morning stroll along the river before heading into the village centre, stopping off at Libby's café for a coffee then heading to Dutsons Deli to grab the essentials for a hearty breakfast.
If you’d prefer to eat out, there’s a host of pubs and restaurants in the village, including the excellent Midland Hotel gastro pub just around the corner from the cottage.
Wander through the vast green spaces of Etherow Country Park and Brabyns Park or join the canal and trek to Disley where you can explore the National Trust owned Lyme Park.
If you crave further outdoor adventure, the Peak District is a short drive away and boasts scenic walks and hikes, including Kinder Scout and Lanter Pike.
Alternatively, if you fancy a change of scenery, just an easy car or train journey away is the bustling city of Manchester is twelve miles away and offers a variety of amusements and attractions, from museums and art galleries to shops and Michelin starred restaurants.
Expect all this and much more at Goyt Cottage.
