Villa Ohana on Madeira is a paradise for families, because we have put all our heart into the furnishing of our modern bungalow.

Villa Ohana is located at an altitude of approx. 230 m in the centre of the valley of Estreito da Calheta. This allows you a fantastic distant view. To the south-east, the mountain ridge extends towards Calheta, offering a marvellous sea of lights, especially at night. To the south-west, you have a wonderful view of the Atlantic Ocean. Due to the south-facing orientation of the property, you have sun on the terrace all day long. But there is also plenty of shade. Villa Ohana is only 3 minutes away from the motorway and is therefore perfectly connected. All you can hear on the terrace is the rustling of the lizards and the church bell at midday: it really is absolutely quiet!

We have decided to furnish Villa Ohana to a high standard and for families. Whether young or old - everyone feels at home at Villa Ohana. We are particularly proud of our heated pool. It has a shallow play area specially designed for children. This also invites parents to hang out in the cooler temperatures. Alex has focussed on the outdoor kitchen. Here you will find a large gas barbecue and hotplate as well as a drinks fridge and plenty of work space. There is a small ninja course in the garden area for all our guests. Of course, there is also a swing. And as there are few sandy beaches on Madeira. We have brought the Caribbean feeling to our property with our own sandy beach and palm tree.

But you don't have to do without any luxury indoors either. Our Villa Ohana has air conditioning in all rooms, a ventilation system, underfloor heating, two televisions, two floor-to-ceiling 1×2 metre rain showers and all the amenities you need for a wonderful stay. There is a small safe in our master bedroom to protect your valuables and passports. There is a Playstation and a Nintendo Switch with various games for the slightly older children, and younger guests will also find plenty of opportunities to play.

Villa Ohana can sleep up to 8 adults, and 2 travel cots are available for smaller children. The master bedroom has a box-spring double bed (1.80m x 2.00m) and a pull-out sofa bed (1.60m x 2.00m). The other two bedrooms are also furnished with box-spring double beds. In one of the bedrooms, the double bed can also be separated into two single beds (if the teenagers want a little more privacy). All bedrooms have direct access to the terrace and pool and enjoy a breathtaking view directly from the bed.

In each bedroom you will also find a well-designed wardrobe (Ikea says hello) and a small desk.

The two identical bathrooms offer you a rain shower with decent water pressure, comfortable toilets, a washbasin and plenty of storage space and sockets. There is an additional toilet and washbasin in the guest WC.

The large open-plan kitchen/living area brings everyone together. A huge window front makes the sea view the most beautiful and natural mural. In the kitchen you will find everything you need for your holiday happiness. We've stayed in countless holiday homes ourselves and know how important it is to have sharp knives and decent pots and pans. Children have their own crockery, all microwave and dishwasher-safe, of course. The corresponding electrical appliances are of course also available (microwave, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, hob + oven, toaster, kettle, blender). In the living room, a super comfy sofa and two rocking chairs are waiting for you to put your feet up after your breathtaking hikes. Or you can go directly to the terrace and choose the most suitable seating or lounging option for you.

Within walking distance you can reach a small supermarket, 2 restaurants, a cocktail bar and a playground.

The good connection to the motorway means you can be at Calheta beach within seven minutes by car. Here you will find one of the few sandy beaches and a mecca for gourmets. The harbour promenade is lined with one good restaurant after another. We can highly recommend the Manifattura di Gelato.

The surfing towns of Jardim do Mar and Paul do Mar are also within easy reach. In about 10 minutes you are there if you want to surf or just want to experience the relaxed atmosphere of the cities.

Ribeira Brava can be reached in about 15 minutes and Funchal in 35 minutes.

We highly recommend you to take a rental car if you want to explore Madeira. You can drive right up to the front door. If you use more than one car, there are 2 more parking spaces in front of our garage.

In the outdoor area you can also see our fruit trees – when the fruit is ripe, you are of course welcome to help yourself.

Pool heating is available. However, this should be requested at least 1 week in advance. If you request the pool heating after your arrival at the villa, a minimum surcharge for one week will be charged from the time the heating is switched on.

The use of the pool heating is optional and costs 140 EUR per week with a temperature setting of 26°C. The surcharge must be paid in cash on arrival.
