A beautifully unique property with stunning views over the Embalse de Zahara lake, La Almena Blanca is the ideal retreat for couples and small groups seeking innovative accommodation in the heart of Andalucía’s breathtaking countryside.
Custom built to the owner’s personal design and Gaudi-esque with its use of curved lines and natural forms, this modern and stylish home feels cosy and organic. White walls and high ceilings create a sense of space and vibrant hues reflect both the azure-blue waters that sparkle in the distance below and the vivid colours of the sierra beyond.
On the ground floor, you’ll find a single bedroom with door leading onto the covered terrace, a bright, mosaic tiled shower room and the main open plan living area from which stairs lead up to two double bedrooms and the main bathroom.
Décor inspired by the owner’s travels and creative structural elements give the property plenty of character and it is this imaginative architecture that can be seen in the wave-like motif utilised on the staircase. Large windows ensure that the impressive panorama can be fully appreciated throughout the property as well as letting in plenty of that warm Andalucían sunshine which paints the hills in different shades throughout the day. These views can also be taken in from a variety of outside areas, such as the covered terrace off the lounge, the in-built barbecue area, the infinity edge pool or the private terrace which adjoins the master double, surely the perfect place to enjoy an evening drink as the stars come out. El Gastor (5 mins drive) is one such pretty ‘pueblo blanco’ where you’ll find all amenities and some good local restaurants serving traditional cuisine whilst a short drive of just 35 minutes will take you into the charming and historic city of Ronda, an absolute must-see for any visit to the area.
