In the picturesque village of Arnes on the "Terra Alta" plateau, you will find everything you need for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. Whether you're lazing around the house, swimming in the rivers, hiking in the mountains, biking or cycling: You're in the best location here. The former olive mill from 1850 was completely renovated in 2022 and the old was stylishly combined with the new.
Immerse yourself in the 200m2 flat and the 350m2 garden on 3 levels, 2 seating areas and barbecue. The kitchen is fully equipped.
The picturesque and well-preserved village of Arnes with its 16th century town hall is located on the agricultural Terra Alta. The plateau, 500 metres above sea level, lies on the edge of the large Els Ports nature reserve. This is the perfect place for anyone who wants to enjoy nature, the countryside and outdoor activities.
The house is located on the outer edge of the village. After just 100 metres you are already in the countryside. The various bathing spots in the streams can be reached within 500 metres, or a little further away on foot or by car.
The 350 m2 garden is laid out on three levels and has two seating areas. One of them has a barbecue area with a charcoal kettle barbecue. The garden enchants with the greenery of the trees, roses and other shrubs.
The flat is well equipped. As it is well naturally cooled in summer, it does not need air conditioning. Fans also provide the necessary freshness. The house is heated by pellet stoves, which are easy to operate.
The former mill is the heart of the flat and also the large lounge. Directly connected in the same room are the dining room with a long wooden table for at least 10 people and the well-equipped kitchen: for those who like to cook elaborately, but also for those who like to cook simply.
Tv and sound system with Bluetooth connection are available.
The large bedrooms are nice and cool in summer. All the rooms mentioned have direct access to the large garden.
The spacious shower is also the room with the washing machine.
The area around Arnes has experienced a strong boom in soft tourism in recent years. The beautiful village is carefully maintained. From Arnes, the Via Verde - a cycle path on an abandoned railway line - leads 45 km to Tortosa. This Via Verde is considered one of the most beautiful cycle routes in Spain. And rightly so: as it is a former railway line, it leads gently through abandoned valleys down to the River Ebro and then along it to Tortosa. There are bathing opportunities in the streams along the route and more and more of the old railway stations are being converted into small restaurants. The many tunnels are mostly illuminated.
Arnes is also located on the edge of the Els Ports nature reserve. Here there are hiking routes, bathing areas, climbing routes and many tours for cycling and MTBs.
The sea can be reached in an hour.
The Terra Alta is an up-and-coming wine region with its own designation of origin. Good wineries can be found above all in Bot, Gandesa and Batea. The best wine-growing region in Spain - the Priorat - borders directly on the Terra Alta.
