You can also head for several good fishing lakes and with some skill and luck, land one or more fish, from the rich trout stock.
Day trips on the national tourist routes to both Ryfylke with Preikestolen and Hardanger with Trolltunga should be experienced. Also the Åkrafjord with the spectacular Langfossen is not far away by car.
In winter the area is an Eldorado for skiing enthusiasts, with an alpine lift not far from the apartment and a number of great cross-country skiing trails in Seljestad and Røldal you will find an ideal base. There are also marked trails to Røldalsåta, the Rallar road to Sauda and several off-piste opportunities for you nearby.
A restaurant is within walking distance on the Røldal terraces and after only a short drive you reach the center of Røldal with stores, tourist information and Røldal Stave Church.
