Set in the idyllic market town of Appleby-in-Westmorland, Cumbira is Eden Cottage.
This delightful, stone-fronted, Grade II listed cottage has stunning original wooden beams woven throughout, a crackling woodburning stove set in a feature fireplace and welcomes up to six guests in three bedrooms, making it a wonderful setting for families or friends looking to explore the surrounding National Parks.
Enter your home-away-from-home where a homely sitting room welcomes you, snuggle up on either of the plush sofas and browse the selection of films on the Smart TV while the woodburning stove warms the room.
Stay warm while the designated chef of the group explores the wonderful kitchen which boasts a double Belfast sink, range oven with gas hob, large fridge/freezer and handy washing machine and dishwasher; tuck into the culinary delights they whip up before travelling out into the spacious garden.
Soak up the last of the sun with a glass of wine in hand or walk alongside the lawn to the bottom of the garden where you can admire the River Eden and watch the sunset over the rolling Cumbrian hills.
When sleep calls, climb the stairs where a double with en-suite shower, double and a bunk room await serviced by a family bathroom; be sure to get some well-earned rest before another action packed day.
Eden Cottage lies at the centre of Appleby-in-Westmorland where you can find local shops and pubs such as the Kings Head and Hare & Hounds on your doorstep, you can also find the well-preserved Norman Appleby Castle and the medieval Church of St Lawrence.
Keen ramblers will be eager to explore the nearby Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Park, both are bursting at the seams with walks and trails varying from tranquil strolls to challenging, mountainous hikes including Nine Standard Rigg and Shap Fells; you will also find a network of biking opportunities and a plethora of wildlife.
Penrith is a short scenic drive away from the cottage and home to more pubs and restaurants for the nights you don’t fancy cooking as well as the imposing Penrith Castle set on a grassy meadow ideal for family picnics.
Choose Eden Cottage as your base and explore the wonders of Cumbria and the surrounding National Parks.
