Sitting in the heart of Malmesbury, Wiltshire is this idyllic, single-storey holiday home of Orchard House Cottage.
A delightful base for two couples or a family of four's break in the Cotswolds, Orchard House Cottage rests on the same site as a handy cattery, so you can bring along your feline friends, as well as being home to chickens and ducks for you to visit.
After parking up in one of the off-road spots, progress inside to find a well-presented kitchen/diner, where a range of quality appliances await, so the chef of the group can easily rustle up home-cooked delights, to be enjoyed at the four-seater dining table.
After dining together, progress to the sitting room and sink back into the sumptuous sofa or armchair whilst the TV entertains you and the woodburning stove warms you up. When sleep calls, retire to one of the two delightful bedrooms, a double and a twin, both of which feature zip/linked beds, along with handy storage space and contemporary décor throughout.
The family bathroom rests nearby and hosts a p-shaped bath for you to relax your muscles after hiking through the nearby Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Make the most of the fabulous site and wander down to the charming chickens, embark on a stroll through the idyllic lawns during the day, or settle down in front of the flickering flames of the fire pit as you marvel at the stars above.
Get acquainted with your surroundings by visiting the Radnor Arms across the road, and there is a bus stop there to take you directly into Malmesbury, where the delights of The Smoking Dog and The Kings Arms serve up hearty meals, the River Avon and Tetbury Avon offer riverside strolls and The Abbey House Garden offers tours of its stunning gardens.
Why not visit Bowood House, or travel to Westonbirt, home to the iconic Westonbirt Arboretum, where a plethora of walking trails amidst the stunning scenery along with an esteemed golf course can be found? The living areas in the single-storey cottage consist of a kitchen/diner with a TV, seating for four people, an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, cot and highchair available, washing machine, dishwasher, and a sitting room with a TV and woodburning stove. Games room. The bedrooms consist of two zip/link double, along with a bathroom. Outside, there are rear lawns with furniture and a fire pit, along with designated off-road parking for 2 cars. Within 0.5 miles, you will find a shop, within 0.3, a pub. Please note that this property welcomes one well-behaved pet, but does not allow smoking. WiFi, fuel, power, a starter pack for the woodburning stove, bed linen and towels are all included in the cost. A highchair and bike storage are also provided. Choose Orchard House Cottage for a relaxing stay by the Cotswolds AONB. Note: Please keep dogs on leads outside at all times as there are farm animals on site. Note: There is a cattery on site for guests who wish to bring cats. Note: This property rests on the same site as the owner's home, please consider this when booking. Het huis was heel erg netjes en van alle gemakken voorzien. Er stond bij aankomst zelfs een welkomspakketje voor ons klaar; heel erg fijn na een lange reisdag.
We hebben enorm genoten van de grote tuin (incl haard, speeltoestel en kippen). De lokatie was ideaal voor dagtochtjes naar Bristol, Oxford en Bath.
