From here, step through the stable door into a sheltered garden with raised terrace, patio furniture and gravelled area with trees.
This is a lovely place to sit and relax, as the river provides a calming soundtrack as it babbles past the bottom of the garden.
A very short stroll takes you into the historic town of Matlock with an impressive array of eateries, real ale inns, cafes and shops.
You are spoilt for choice with lots attractions on offer all year round, whether its a gentle wall along the river front at Matlock Bath, riding a cable car to the heights of Abraham or a visit to the majestic Chatsworth House. There are many cycle trails and trekking routes around the beautiful Carsington Water, where you can enjoy the day spotting the varied birdlife.
