Lovingly restored, this cottage is full of character, seamlessly combining its original features including exposed stonework and old beams with contemporary fixtures and fittings. Situated in a beautiful area, this holiday home is the perfect base for friends and families to explore the South Pennines and the surrounding fells and valleys of the Brontë Moors. Upstairs offers a stylish, king-size double bedroom with single sofa bed, and picturesque views of the wild meadows and moorland. There is also another king-size double room and a twin room, modern family bathroom and a shower room. Prepare mouth-watering, home-cooked meals in the shaker-style kitchen and gather around the dining table to plan your adventures from this cottage near Todmorden. After a day walking across the glorious South Pennine Moors, or after spending time visiting some of the scenes where the drama series Happy Valley was filmed, retire to the spacious sitting room, featuring lovely wooden flooring, comfy seating, and a second dining area. Curl up by the cosy woodburning stove and catch up on some reading, the perfect way to escape the cold on winter nights. Hebden Bridge is an easy drive away with its upbeat nightlife, fabulous curiosity shops, market held five days a week and the Hebden Bridge Picture House Cinema, serving tea and scones during the intervals! The cottage offers a king-size double room with single sofa bed boasting glorious views of the surrounding fells, a king-size double room, a twin room, family bathroom and a shower room. There is also a well-equipped kitchen with a dining area and a sitting room with a woodburning stove and a further dining area. Outside, there is a patio with furniture and access to a meadow for dog walking, and off road parking for two cars. Salter Rake Gate Cottage is the perfect base for a family break exploring the Brontë Moors and the South Pennine Moors, all year round. The cottage overlooks the owner's private mature gardens. Note: Access to the property is up a steep, narrow drive and parking may be tight for very large cars. Note: Meadow not suitable for young children due to unfenced pond. NOTE: The owner has a car charging facility for electric cars at £15 per charge- please ask the owner for further details on arrival.Note: There is a minimum of a 7 night stay for bookings in mid July and all of August and bookings must start on a Saturday

Wonderful house with every amenity you would ever require. Exceptionally well furnished, warm and comfortable. We really felt at home plus Penny and her husband were so friendly and made us feel very welcome.
Todmorden is a great area to base yourself and we would recommend this particular house to anyone wanting to visit the area. Definitely 10 out of 10

This property is a lovely cottage,set in a very scheduled and private place.its ideal for a large family and has very thing you need .The only thing that let the cottage down was it needed to be a little more cleaner,but apart from that, the cottage was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay .
