The Old Cook House is a detached bungalow set in the grounds of the owners’ smallholding in Winchester.

This ground-floor property offers peaceful accommodation for guests wanting to explore this rural location, but also within easy reach of the coast. The Old Cook House boasts a king-size bedroom, and a twin bedroom also offers a well-equipped kitchen, a bathroom with an L-shaped bath and shower, as well as a living area complete with a feature fireplace (for ornamental purposes only), and a Smart TV.

There is also the benefit of a boot room for when you need to dry off your dog.

Outside, there is an enclosed garden with a private seating area where you can relax and take in the surroundings. The property is set in a quiet location with walks directly from the property and a recreation ground with plenty of equipment for young children, a football pitch and a tennis court.

In the opposite direction there are walks with views of Winchester Cathedral and the local supermarket is just a 10-minute walk away.

There are two golf courses within 2 miles and one golf course within walking distance. During the First World War, the village was used by the army which had an extensive veterinary hospital for horses.

After the war the camps were split up into agricultural small holdings and the army huts were used as dwellings; part of this cottage was the army cookhouse, hence the name.
