A toaster and kettle are also available, along with a radio. You can use the Wi-Fi free of charge. The bathroom includes a toilet and shower, and of course, a hairdryer. All rooms have wooden floors and are equipped with modern wall heating. You are welcome to store your own bicycles or rent one from us. The city of Naumburg and the picturesque landscape along the Saale and Unstrut rivers are ideal for cycling tours. Public parking is available in the immediate vicinity. If you have pets, we kindly ask you to leave them at home. The Bachmanns Witwe holiday apartment – your holiday destination in the heart of Naumburg A warm welcome to the historic city center of the cathedral city of Naumburg! Our holiday apartment has been lovingly restored and is located in a listed half-timbered house from the 18th century.
You will be staying in the garden house of the property at Wenzelsstraße 5, ensuring a very quiet location yet right in the middle of the old town. With the Bachmanns Witwe holiday apartment in the World Heritage City of Naumburg, you have an optimal starting point to explore the city and its sights, as well as the beautiful surroundings and neighboring towns such as Freyburg, Bad Kösen, and Schulpforte. Just around the corner, you will find the St. Wenzel Church with the baroque organ built by master organ builder Zacharias Hildebrandt.
He completed it after three years of construction, and it was subsequently approved by Gottfried Silbermann and Johann Sebastian Bach themselves.
You can listen to it every Wednesday and Saturday and on numerous concert evenings.
The tower of St. Wenzel Church offers a fantastic view of Naumburg and the surrounding area. The World Heritage site of Naumburg, the Cathedral, is reachable within an eight-minute walk through the market square and along the pedestrian zone.
The Cathedral is the city's most famous landmark, where you can plan ample time for exploration.
From the crypt, through the many impressive works by the Naumburg Master and the two rood screens, to modern details, there is much to discover.
Be sure to visit Uta and Ekkehard and the other donor figures in the west choir. With the historic tram from 1892, you can circle the old town from the train station to the Salztor and disembark, for example, at the Nietzsche House to visit the Nietzsche Museum.
From here, it's only a few steps to the holiday apartment on Wenzelsstraße. At the market square, you will find the City Museum, which could also be a worthwhile destination for you. Besides many interesting streets and squares, there is also plenty to discover outside the city of Naumburg.
Notable mentions include the town of Freyburg an der Unstrut with the impressive Neuenburg Castle, the spa town of Bad Kösen with its graduation house (Gradierwerk) and the Käthe Kruse Doll Museum, and the historic state school in Schulpforte. By bicycle or on foot, you can excellently explore the Saale-Unstrut wine region and taste the different wines directly where they are produced.
We have around 50 winemakers here who cultivate wines such as Müller-Thurgau, Weißburgunder, Riesling, Portugieser, or Blauer Zweigelt, among others, on approximately 735 hectares. Throughout the year, you can experience highlights in Naumburg and the region such as the Saale Wine Mile, the Spring Wine Festival on the Unstrut, the Hussite Cherry Festival, the Potters' Market with Wine Festival, the Wine Festival in Freyburg, Advent weekends in courtyards, cellars, on towers, and in the vineyards, and in December, a cozy small Christmas market with an ice rink.
This list is not exhaustive; you will surely find more. We cordially invite you to visit this beautiful city of Naumburg, with or without a special occasion.
