Holiday Apartments with Tradition
For many decades, our parents Friedlinde and Adolf Braun successfully ran the Waldeck guesthouse in Fichtelberg.
It was important to us that this tradition lives on. Therefore, we – Michael Braun and Christianne Braun-Breuer – took over the house in 2021 and completely renovated it. The result is two modern, very high-quality apartments that harmoniously blend with the classic architecture of the former guesthouse.
Making new from old! Yet some things remain the same: Our commitment to the well-being of our guests.
A warm welcome to "Hopfen und Malz," your holiday apartments in the Fichtelgebirge.
Both apartments, Hopfen and Malz, located on Schneebergweg, offer a beautiful view of the Fichtelgebirge's landmark, the 1024 m high Ochsenkopf.
From here, it's about a 20-minute walk through the forest to the idyllic and legendary Fichtelsee lake.
In the other direction, you can easily reach the village with its shops and diverse culinary offerings on foot or by car. Our apartment MALZ was newly constructed in autumn 2021 and combines modern, high-quality furnishings with the classic architecture of the former Waldeck guesthouse.
Its larger sister, HOPFEN, followed in September 2022. The new apartments are furnished with great care and high-quality materials.
The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances.
The coordinated materials and colors are sustainable, and along with the rain shower, they offer excellent living quality and a feel-good factor.
Both apartments have spacious, covered balconies.
These, along with the use of the terrace, offer you the opportunity to enjoy the sun or shade at any time of day. A parking space for your car is available on the large driveway.
The optimal infrastructure allows you to explore in all directions: the festival cities of Bayreuth and Wunsiedel, the World Heritage site of Bamberg, the porcelain town of Selb, the Bohemian Spas in the Czech Republic, wellness in Bad Alexandersbad or Weissenstadt.
Within minutes, you can also reach numerous hiking, ski, and cycling routes, as well as Schneeberg, Ochsenkopf, themed hiking trails, the sources of the Main, Eger, Naab, and Saale rivers, ski lifts in Neubau, Mehlmeisel, Fleckl, and Bischofsgrün, a climbing park, the Alpine Coaster, and much more. We provide a Smart TV and free Wi-Fi. Hospitality and quality are our top priorities.
