Situated at the top of the picturesque village of Runswick Bay and offering secluded gardens and parking, this delightful detached holiday cottage enjoys views across the cliff tops down to the sea.
A tumble of pretty little cottages, almost clinging to the cliffs, leads down to the wide sandy beach at the bottom of the bay, surrounded and sheltered by the rugged cliff line.
Cliff top walks afford breathtaking views across the North Yorkshire coastline as far as the historic port of Whitby, known for its connections with Captain James Cook and the novel of Dracula, written by Bram Stoker.
Dracula was published in 1897 with many of the early chapters recognisably set in Whitby - the various sites including Tate Hill Sands, the abbey, the church and its steps, the graveyard and Stoker’s house which have all become huge tourist attractions and are well worth a visit.
The Captain Cook Memorial Museum and the Whitby Lifeboat Museum are also of interest.
The North Yorkshire Moors National Railway can be boarded to discover the delights and beauty of the Esk Valley, travelling through Heartbeat’s very own village of Aidensfield.

Excellent holiday accommodation. The hill to and from the beach is a challenge but Saltburn is a viable alternative without need for sherpa support. Well equipped with the aga keeping the ground floor very warm. Small point - the shower cubicle could do with a shelf.

Visited with 4 adults and 20 month old triplets, and were very happy. Plenty of room inside the house, also had a large garden with seating. Toys and board games were available, and a television in most rooms. We were pleased that milk and basics had been left for our arrival. The house was very clean, could have used a chopping board. Loved the countryside around.

second visit a very comfortable cottage with everything you need , as it was a bit chilly the AGA is a very welcome heat and cooking source .
Only a pub in Runswick but plenty to do roundabout in Saltburn Whitby etc
