It is a thriving village with monthly village markets and regular community events throughout the year. The market town of Ashbourne is worth visiting, with its original cobbled lanes, old market stalls and grand Georgian buildings which are home to a good selection of restaurants, interesting shops and traditional coaching inns.

Why not visit nearby Burton-upon-Trent? Here you can enjoy a fascinating day discovering the art of brewing beer, whilst the National Memorial Arboretum is just a short drive away.

The peace of the Peak District, with its maze of footpaths and cycle routes, is within easy reach, as well as the magnificent Cannock Chase.
