It is also ideal for guests who enjoy walking and cycling, as there are numerous established public footpaths, walks and cycle paths that lead from the cottage and out into the beautiful countryside of County Durham.
One of these walks takes you alongside the River Browney and down towards the village, a most scenic walk that’s not to be missed! Keen long-distance runners will likely be interested in the Great North Run half marathon, and there’s also the Durham County Cricket Club just 11 miles away.
The beautiful hills and valleys of Teesdale and Weardale are both under a 30-minute drive, and walkers will find themselves surrounded by some of the most evocative landscapes the UK has to offer.

The cottage was set in lovely countryside surrounded by sheep. The accommodation was a tad small but adequate for 2 people and 1 dog. The staircase was a little tight as I kept banging my head(5ft 7) 🤣 other than that it was fine.

What a Fantastic location and great little cottage. Had everything we needed and was very comfortable. A short drive to Durham, Newcastle and Chester-le-street so no problem to get anything you need.
