Dolgoed House (ref RA5) has lots of character with exposed stone and beams and boasts four en-suite bedrooms; two of which are on the ground floor.
Y Stabl (ref OM2) is an attractive stone barn conversion.
Both properties stand detached and have a wood-burning stove for cosy evenings, and a large lawned garden and patio for enjoying al fresco dining on warmer days. Located in the west of the Brecon Beacons National Park, between the boutique town of Llandeilo and the farming village of Llangadog, both just a few miles away and offer a good choice of places to eat and drink.
There is spectacular walking along the high ridges of the Fforest Fawer Geopark, plus scenic cycle rides or drives along the river.
The area is home to the red kite, one of the UK’s most beautiful birds of prey.
It is also the setting of numerous castle and historical sites set in stunning locations including Carreg Cennen, Newtwon House, Dinefwr Castle and Park and the Dolau Cothi Gold Mines (underground tours available).
The National Botanic Garden of Wales, with its giant glass dome is well worth a visit at any time of year, while at the coast, Kidwelly Castle and Pembrey Country Park, with its 8 miles of sandy beaches, are must-see day trips.
