These two delightful holiday cottages (Refs MRA and MRB), each with its own history, are tastefully converted from former barns dating back to the 1600s.
Retaining character and charm, they lie in a peaceful setting overlooking countryside with many cycle tracks nearby.
Ideal walking and fishing country, yet close to famous attractions - visitors can step back in time at the Beamish Open Air Museum or visit the Metro Centre (a shopper’s paradise), Hexham (with its glorious abbey), Durham City (a city of contrasts, with its fine cathedral and designer shops), or the Northumberland coast, which are all within an hour’s drive.
The medieval castle of Raby has a 200-acre deer park and is a firm favourite with visitors.
An ideal location to explore all the surrounding AONB.

Had a week's stay at this lovely cottage with our daughter and two grandsons. Beautifully appointed, nice solid furniture and a new fitted kitchen. Lovely quiet location with nice views and surroundings. Ideal for short trip to Beamish, not too far from seaside or trip to Newcastle. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would certainly consider staying there again.

Lovely accommodation for families. Spacious open plan living area, cosy heating and private parking make this holiday cottage an ideal choice. Far reaching views of the local countryside an extra bonus. Very close to Beamish and a short drive to Newcastle for city days out. A shame there is only one bathroom but for a short break, it was fine.

We had an amazing break! Cottage was comfortable, super clean and had all the necessary amenities. We would definitely like to come back in the future.
