Las Canteras Beach is an extensive strip of sand that stretches for 3800 metres along the bay. Recognised as one of the best urban beaches in Spain and the world, it offers a pleasant climate almost all year round, ideal for relaxing, practising water sports or simply enjoying its vibrant atmosphere. It is a special place, with a natural marine reserve and a seabed full of life, which makes the beach an excellent destination for snorkelling, surfing and swimming. A unique feature of Las Canteras is "La Barra", a natural rock formation that protects part of the beach, creating a natural pool at low tide.



The promenade is ideal for exploring shops, cafes, ice cream parlours and restaurants, with options to suit all tastes. At the beginning of the promenade are the terraces of La Puntilla, famous for its fresh fish restaurants. At the opposite end, near the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, there is a surfing atmosphere, with more terraces and cafés facing the sea.



If you decide to explore further afield, in just 40 minutes you can reach the south of the island, with incredible beaches such as Playa del Inglés or Maspalomas, famous for their dunes and natural landscapes. In addition, in the south you will find leisure options such as the amusement park "Holiday World Maspalomas" and the water park "Aqualand Maspalomas". Other places of interest on the island include the picturesque village of Teror (18 km away), the Tamadaba Natural Park (68 km away) or the port of Agaete (36 km away).
