Information about the host
The Loggia Haus is centrally located in the town centre of Rheinsberg directly at the castle and the Grienericksee, with connection to the Mecklenburg Lake District. The castle park with the Heckentheater is directly adjacent to our garden. Art and culture, harbour, restaurants, lido and shopping facilities are in the immediate vicinity and can be reached on foot.
Away from the hustle and bustle, the small baroque town of Rheinsberg has everything you need for a relaxing, successful holiday.
The castle, where Frederick the Great lived in his younger years, with the Tucholsky Museum and the inviting parks is worth a visit in itself.
The harbour is right next to the palace. From here, you can easily explore the extensive lake landscape on a passenger boat or hire a boat yourself.
The historic lido is still in operation today and some of the well-preserved villas from the turn of the century can be seen from the lake or the footpath. There are well-run small restaurants and cafés in the village centre around the beautiful church, or a few steps further along the shore. You should enjoy the sunset there with a good glass of wine.
Throughout the year, but especially in the summer months, classical concerts and the Young Opera Singers Festival take place here in the castle's Hall of Mirrors, the castle theatre and the open-air Heckentheater.
The Kurt Tucholsky Museum and Archive is not only worth a visit for those interested in literature, as it offers an insight into the history of Rheinsberg and its interesting guests.
The ceramics museum is home to the largest ceramics factory in Prussia.
Rheinsberg lies in a gently undulating landscape with plenty of sparse woodland and can be explored via a well-developed cycle network. Those who love river trails can paddle down the Rhine from Rheinsberg in a canoe or kayak and be brought back again.
There are many worthwhile destinations for day trips in the surrounding area, such as the Fontane town of Neuruppin or the famous Stechlinsee lake. Nirgen
