It overlooks the river Sado and the Arrábida mountain range and is just a 5-minute walk from the boats to Troia, where there are typical restaurants serving the famous fried octopus, among other specialities. The town of Setúbal is part of the so-called Costa Azul, an important harbour and commercial area visited by most tourists. One of its main activities is undoubtedly fishing and is increasingly sought after by tourists, who find excellent routes to explore in the city and its surroundings. With a cosy old town, the traditional pedestrian streets of the market row that lead us to a beautiful avenue that offers a huge, refreshing garden. Located on the River Sado, the city offers visitors the best and freshest fish and seafood.

Also worth mentioning are the excellent beaches, namely Figueirinha, Galapos and Portinho da Arrábida (a beautiful sheltered cove). On the opposite bank of the River Sado, easily accessible by ferry, is the Troia peninsula, which is about 18 kilometres from the beaches and a golf course.

Around Setúbal are areas of unspoilt nature, namely the Sado Estuary Nature Reserve, where dolphins can be observed in the wild, and the Arrábida Natural Park with unique features, with species only found in neighbouring areas of the Mediterranean.
