C’era una volta (once upon a time)….. is a newly restored, tastefully furnished self-catering accommodation meant for couples or families who wish to enjoy a quiet and comfortable stay surrounded by nature and history while discovering South-Eastern Sicily. "C'era una volta" holiday letting is located in the suggestive and picturesque “Cava di San Bartolomeo”, facing the rupestian area of Chiafura on the way fto Modica, Noto and Siracusa and 5-10 minutes drive to the sea.

It is a typical early twentieth century Sicilian holiday rental, restored using old squared stones for the walls, wood for part of the ceiling and other local raw materials. The charming furniture reminding the past together with the most modern comforts are thought to grant a pleasant and quiet stay to families with children and couples. “Make yourself at home” is our motto.

It is well located to visit the Sicilian late-baroque architecture of Scicli, Modica and Ragusa Ibla, part of UNESCO world heritage, to enjoy holidays with children, to discover the interesting archaeological sites of Chiafura, Ispica or Kamarina, to visit the sets of the fiction “il Commissario Montalbano and of many other movies, to make fantastic naturalistic excursions through caves along wild paths, to enjoy the several cafes, restaurants and taste the local traditional cookery.

Via Piedigrotta is on three levels. On the ground floor there is the dining room furnished with wooden table and chairs and a comfortable double sofa-bed, the equipped kitchen corner and one bathroom. On the first floor there is a bedroom with double bed and a nice tiny balcony and the second bathroom with shower. On the top the suggestive roof-terrace from which you can enjoy the fantastic view of the surrounding nature and architectures and spend your time in total relaxation. Around the house only narrow pedestrian safe alleys.

The house can host up to 4 adults + 1 child. It is provided with air conditioning, heating, washing-machine, TV, satellite and decoder, hi-fi radio, electric cooker.

If you look for "ceraunavoltascicli" on google, you'll find, together with this house named Via Piedigrotta, the second just restored house named Via Tivoli. It is just round the corner and can comfortably host up to 3 guests.
