Welcome to our holiday apartment Bradatsch.
The apartment was newly designed in 2017.
It is located in a quiet residential area in Catterfeld, directly on the forest.
The holiday apartment is situated on our property behind our house and is not fenced.
Bringing pets is only possible upon prior request!!!
At the foot of the Rennsteig, between Oberhof and Inselsberg.
Shops and restaurants are approximately 7 km away.
Public transport is well-developed. Catterfeld, a district of the newly founded rural municipality of Georgenthal since January 1, 2020, is a true gem on the edge of the western "Thuringian Forest".
This former hillside settlement is the most viewed village in the "Thuringian Forest" from the legendary "Rennsteig". The village, situated at an altitude of approximately 430-480 meters above sea level with its approximately 700 inhabitants, enjoys a charming location.
Here you will find peace and relaxation, a mild, stimulating climate, and clean air.
Numerous rest benches and seating areas along the hiking trails around the village ensure your well-being. On the Johannisberg, not far from Catterfeld and located in the directly adjacent district of Altenbergen, stands the candelabra built in 1811, commemorating the Christianization of Thuringia by Boniface, who had established a baptistery at this site. Our village is located directly on the federal road B 88 and is therefore very easily accessible by car, including good connections to the A 4 and A 71 motorways.
Bus lines to Friedrichroda, Tabarz, Ohrdruf, Gotha, and Oberhof operate from the centrally located bus stop. Our holiday apartment is quietly situated on the edge of the village and forest, making it an ideal starting point for hikes in the surrounding area. Popular excursion destinations include Erfurt (Cathedral, Krämerbrücke, historic old town, zoo), Weimar (Duchess Anna Amalia Library), Eisenach (Wartburg Castle, Luther and Bach House), Gotha (Friedenstein Castle, Zoo, Natural History Museum, historic old town), Oberhof (winter sports center with ski hall), and much more.
