The Villaggio Mare Blu di Villanova offers direct access to the limpid Apulian sea, from the beaches of Diana Marina in Monticelli, to the Porto Turistico di Villanova, a historic fishing village, now a favourite destination for many travellers. A few kilometres away is Ostuni, known to the world as the White City, the pearl of the Itria Valley. Its historical centre, blindingly white and immense, culminates with the Cathedral that impetuously dominates the plain of olive trees, the coastal dune park and a crystal-clear sea. Its alleyways, the Piazza della Libertà and the column of S. Oronzo that majestically protects the town are characteristic. Its countryside extends into the heart of the Valle d'Itria. A few kilometres away is Ceglie Messapica, a centre of tradition and enogastronomy, Cisternino, a village recognised as one of the most beautiful in Italy, Alberobello whose famous trulli have been a world heritage site since 1996. About 30 km to the north we find the Egnazia Archaeological Park, Monopoli and Polignano a Mare, ancient fishing villages with a charming historic centre and beautiful beaches. To the north (80 km) we find Bari, the gateway to the East, while moving south we first encounter the Torre Guaceto nature reserve, then Brindisi to reach Lecce, the capital of Baroque. Moving westwards there is Taranto, the heart of Magna Graecia, and finally Matera, characteristic for its Sassi and European Capital of Culture 2019.
The nearest airports are Brindisi (30 minutes) and Bari (60 minutes).
