Life beside the River Linge tends to move slowly, shaped by orchard roads, ferry crossings, and long afternoons outdoors once the weather warms up. This spacious farmhouse near Leerdam sleeps up to 12 guests across six bedrooms and combines countryside calm with enough outdoor space to make larger family stays feel relaxed rather than busy.
Most mornings begin quietly on the terrace before the day drifts toward riverside cycling routes, village walks, or boat trips along the Linge. Children usually head straight for the trampoline, sand pit, and table tennis while the adults settle into longer lunches beside the barbecue once everyone returns from exploring nearby towns.
The River Linge and its cycling routes begin almost directly outside the property, crossing orchards, ferry points, and small Dutch villages throughout the region. Leerdam can be reached within roughly 5 minutes and is known for its glassmaking history, riverside terraces, and the National Glass Museum where visitors can watch live glassblowing demonstrations. GeoFort lies around 12 minutes away inside a former defence fortress with interactive mapping exhibits and outdoor mazes, while Loevestein Castle can be reached within approximately 40 minutes beside the meeting point of the Maas and Waal rivers. Asperen Fortification also sits nearby for quieter walks and seasonal art exhibitions along the old military lines.

Het was erg warm toen wij er waren, maar binnen bleef het heerlijk koel. Ook buiten veel gelegenheid om in de schaduw te zitten. Voor onze groep van 8 personen was het goed te doen met 2 badkamers en de tafeltennis- en de voetbaltafel werden veel gebruikt.

Veel ruimte. Fijne buitenomgeving die afgezet is, handig voor onze honden. De ruimtes zijn wel wat gehorig (tussen de slaapkamers bijv.) en het sanitair kan een update gebruiken. Al met al prima waar voor je geld.
