In the hills of Umbria, this enchanting castle stay in Gualdo Cattaneo offers a unique escape steeped in history and natural beauty. With its warm, rustic charm and thoughtful hospitality, this retreat is perfect for couples, families, and their beloved pets seeking a tranquil yet enriching experience in the heart of Italy. Surrounded by lush landscapes, the castle features a shared swimming pool for sun-soaked afternoons and a peaceful garden ideal for relaxing strolls or simply soaking in the countryside views with your four-legged friend. The expansive outdoor space is perfect for pets to roam safely, while the surrounding trails through vineyards and olive groves make for scenic walks or jogs alongside your furry companion. Inside, cozy evenings await by the fireplace, and come dinnertime, guests can enjoy a truly local experience at the small on-site restaurant. With no fixed menu, each meal is a surprise—made from seasonal ingredients and paired with Montefalco wines and estate-pressed olive oils. A highlight for pet lovers and golf enthusiasts alike is the Perugia Golf Club, located just a few miles away. This pet-friendly course, founded in 1959, welcomes leashed dogs to accompany their owners across tree-lined fairways, technical holes, and a charming lime kiln clubhouse—offering a perfect blend of leisure and companionship. Venture into nearby towns like Assisi, Perugia, and Spoleto, or join local festivities such as Bevagna’s “Mercato delle Gaite” in June and Spoleto’s “Festival dei Due Mondi” in July—many of which feature pet-friendly areas and open piazzas. Whether you're exploring historic villages, dining under the stars, or playing a round of golf with your pup, this castle retreat offers a soul-soothing stay for you and your furry friend.

What a delightful stay! The rustic charm of this castle in Umbria is truly enchanting, We loved the cozy evenings by the fireplace and the beautiful garden where our dog could roam freely, The shared swimming pool was a fantastic way to unwind after a day of exploring the nearby vineyards,
