The hut is located on a large natural plot of land about 300 meters from Lake Traboch.

The mountain world of the Eisenerz Alps with the largest iron ore open-cast mine in Central Europe also offers impressive insights into the mining history and a wealth of possibilities in the midst of magnificent natural scenery. The "Wilde Berg Mautern - Wildlife Park" is nearby and the "Gesäuse - Wild Water and Steep Rock" National Park is easily accessible by car via the Präbichl and is a great starting point for wonderful mountain tours and hikes.
