A description of the flat and central location:
The cosy 55 sqm maisonette flat is spread over two levels and is located on the 1st floor of the historic Fischerhaus in Gudewerdtstrasse.
The flat is located in the centre of Eckernförde's old town and can be reached without a car. Thanks to the central location, you can reach the train station in 7 minutes and the beach or the city centre in 2 minutes. Shopping in the markets, bakeries or shops can be done quickly without a car.
On entering the flat, you will find yourself directly in the spacious, cosily furnished living and dining room. The exposed roof beams immediately catch the eye, giving the room the cosy ambience of a fisherman's house. Due to the old construction method, the height of the beams is lower than the ceiling height.
The sleeping area, directly under the roof, can be reached directly via a flight of stairs. Here you will find a restful sleep after a long day at work or you can simply dream away your day's experiences.
The flat has a fitted kitchen in which you will find everything you need for everyday use. The daylight bathroom is tiled in white and has a shower with shower tray.
There is a washing machine and tumble dryer for free use in the basement.
The flat is self-catering - services not included:
♦ You must bring your own bed linen, towels, tea towels, cleaning cloths
♦ You must bring your own washing machine detergent, dishwasher tablets
♦ General cleaning products are available
♦ Not suitable for babies and small children
♦ No pets allowed
♦ Non-smoking apartment
The historic old town centre is just a few metres away with cafés, bakeries, organic market, restaurants, ice cream parlours, sweet shop, pharmacies, boutiques etc.
Major events are organised every year: Maritime nostalgia meets modernity when, for example, the Eckernförde fish market is organised every 1st Sunday of the month, where young and old are invited to browse and taste all kinds of goods. Long-established events, such as the Eckernförde Sprat Days (June), the Borby Guild (June) and the eel regatta (June), give you the opportunity to get closer to us and stop for a chat.
Scream your heart out at the Strand Open Air on the south beach (August) and dive into a world full of rum and ruffians with your family and friends at the pirate spectacle (August).
Shortly before the end of the year, enjoy another change of perspective at the Green Screen Nature Film Festival (September), and finally you can leave another Eckernförde year behind you at the Christmas market (November-December).
The location is ideal for active holidays with beautiful excursions:
The Baltic Sea is considered one of the most popular holiday regions in Germany. Miles of beaches, cliffs and fresh sea air - the 700-year-old town of Eckernförde with its 20,000 inhabitants offers all this and much more.
Eckernförde is the ideal starting point for active holidays and beautiful excursions. Explore the town centre on foot or start a hiking/cycling tour, everything starts right on your doorstep.
The small town with its beautiful, lively old town, many restaurants, cosy cafés, colourful shops and chic boutiques offers not only a long sandy beach but also a 3 km long beach promenade where you can take a wonderful stroll. The beautifully planted spa gardens are also always worth a visit. The seawater wave pool invites you to swim and relax.
Nearby picturesque towns such as Kappeln and Arnis on the Schlei, the cathedral city of Schleswig with the old fishing settlement of Holm and the state capital of Kiel offer many opportunities. Not only the Baltic Sea coast, but also the Hüttener Berge and the Windebyer Noor are ideal for beautiful excursions. Furthermore, the interesting city of Flensburg, the northernmost city in Germany on the Danish border, is only 60 kilometres away. A great day trip leads to the cosmopolitan city of Hamburg 120 km away.
