Six prestigious Golf Clubs are all situated within a 40km radius from the residence and Skiing can be found at Forcora which is only 15 minutes away, or guests can travel to the well-known Swiss ski resorts of San Bernardino, Airolo and Andermatt which can be reached in just over an hour. The very pretty ancient town of Maccagno with its imposing medieval tower overlooking the wonderful marina and its cafes, shops and sandy beach is a popular visitor attraction in itself and enjoys a very warm and mild year round climate. Local visitor attractions include the Borromeo Islands with their splendid Italian style gardens, the ancient Angera Castle that dates back to the XIIth century, the hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso, the splendid Villas run by FAI (the Italian National Trust) and the gardens of Villa Taranto in Verbania.
