Also just a few kilometres away among the countless beaches are: The Nature Reserve of Cassibile, a natural area of about 2760 hectares rich in vegetation where one of the major rivers of south-eastern Sicily (Cassibile River) passes, which over the millennia has carved out a canyon that reaches up to 250 metres in certain stretches, but above all to form small lakes (Cava Grande) ideal for a nice swim in a fantastic natural setting. Vendicari Nature Reserve an area of about 1500 hectares of unspoilt nature between Noto and Pachino. And among the many beaches is Cala Mosche, which a few years ago Legambiente awarded it the title of 'Italy's most beautiful beach'. Pantalica UNESCO site where, in addition to a paradisiacal and unspoilt nature, there are necropolis (with over 5000 tombs) and the ruins of the villages of the ancient inhabitants of Sicily.
