Borgo Stoppi, situated at 600 m a.s.l. at the foot of the Castello Poggio alla Regina, was a property of the counts Guidi since the 11th Century and after some changes of owners, in the 14th Century it became the main centre of the medieval district named "Curia del Castiglione" and agricultural capital of the surrounding mountain area, with its own town hall and big weekly market.
Today, the old houses of the hamlet have been restored to 8 units, enhancing in a superb manner the beauty this affascinating place has maintained during the centuries: cypress, oak, pine and chestnuts trees are silent testimonies of Nature and wild boars, hares, squirrels, phaesants and owls may be watched in the surroundings.
From the terrace covered with olive trees that produce one of the best and genuine olive oils of the area, you can enjoy a magnificent panorama over the Arno valley and the Chianti hills.

Omgivelserne er smukke, alting er velholdt og poolen er vidunderlig kølig med gode solpladser omkring.
Vi ville gerne have mødt værten, selv om han havde sendt en meget fin information til os på forhånd.

Rigtig fin bolig. Men vi synes det havde været rart at vide, at ferieboligen lå langt oppe af bjergsiden, hvilket gjorde at det ikke var muligt at gå til centrum for at handle ind. Dette krævede en bil.

Heerlijke vakantie op een toplocatie. Huisje is geweldig, zwembad is heerlijk met een prachtig uitzich. Dagtrips naar Florence, Sienna, Pisa/Lucca gemaakt. Laatste was wel wat verder rijden maar goed te doen. Weg naar huisje is wel stijl en smal maar na 3x heen en weer ben je er wel aan gewend.
